Transport Outlook
Brief
New Zealand’s Transport Outlook compiles an enormous amount of information about New Zealand’s transport systems to create a series of scenarios about what the future of transport in New Zealand might look like. It’s a powerful tool to support decision-making across the sector, and our job was to bring it to life in an engaging and easy-to-navigate format.
Approach
Our solution draws on the timeless concept of navigation using the stars, featuring night time photography from across New Zealand. Text and graphs were supported by icons, infographics and illustrations to aid navigation and increase the accessibility of the very dense content.
Outcome
It’s appropriate that this future focused document is also future proofed. While the Transport Outlook we worked on is a printed publication, more and more its content will be updated and made available online, so its modular layout and the various icons and other design elements have all been created with the online environment – and the future – in mind.
